Defense Contractor With $9 Billion In Revenue Fined $35,000 For Chemical Waste Storage Violations
Sell Oregon Environmental Quality Department
The Oregon Environmental Quality Department says contractor URS breached air quality and hazardous waste storage rules by placing 30 containers of mustard agent-polluted waste in a storage igloo that had not been outfitted with mandated devices including gasket plugs and drain seals.
The state is proposing a fine of close to $35,000 for the violations, which did not result in the release of any harmful emissions.
